Lim bay used to be a border between Pula’s and Porec ager publicus, but today it is the border between Vrsar and Rovinj. The bottom of the channel hides many pieces of antique items. It is assumed that during the storm, antique ships were hiding in the channel and, while waiting for better weather, were cleaning the ships, throwing into the sea everything that did not survive the journey on a turbulent sea. In the area of Lim bay is situated Romuald’s cave – an archaeological site from the paleolithic and a very interesting speleological object with cave decoration. Pirate’s cave is one of the caves along the Lim bay and it is accessible only from the sea.
